Role Description

As a Senior Data Governance Consultant (Pharma), you will act as a strategic advisor to corporate pharmaceutical clients, helping them design and implement enterprise-wide data governance frameworks that meet regulatory requirements and enable advanced analytics. You will lead client engagements, shape governance strategy, and ensure alignment between business, IT, and compliance stakeholders.

• Lead data governance strategy development for pharmaceutical and life sciences clients, ensuring alignment with corporate, regulatory, and compliance needs.
• Design and implement governance operating models, policies, and stewardship frameworks across global organizations.
• Guide clients in data quality, metadata management, and data lineage to support regulatory audits and trusted analytics.
• Act as a thought leader in pharma data governance, advising on best practices and emerging trends (e.g., AI/ML readiness, FAIR data principles).
• Manage and mentor consulting teams, ensuring high-quality delivery and professional development.
• Facilitate executive workshops, stakeholder alignment sessions, and change management programs to embed governance into client culture.
• Oversee integration of governance with Master Data Management (MDM), regulatory systems (e.g., Veeva), and analytics platforms.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or MDM, with a strong track record in pharma or other regulated industries.
• Deep knowledge of pharmaceutical regulatory standards (e.g., GxP, GDPR, FDA/EMA guidelines) and their implications for data management.
• Proven ability to lead client engagements, from initial strategy through to execution and adoption.
• Hands-on expertise with governance tools and platforms (e.g., Collibra, Informatica, Alation, Veeva Network).
• Strong leadership skills, with experience mentoring consultants or managing workstreams.
• Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to influence senior executives and drive organizational change.
• Consulting background preferred; ability to thrive in a client-facing, project-driven environment.
• Remote work usually possible, but candidates must be based in Germany and have a valid work permit for the European Union.
• Fluently in German and English.
