Role Description
This position involves driving and performing activities to develop, maintain, and support the Banks’ Enterprise Data Warehouse, Business Intelligence, and Reporting Solutions, ensuring timely access to quality data.
- Carry out all assigned tasks efficiently and effectively, adhering to internal policies and procedures.
- Participate in the design and implementation of process improvements for the team.
- Participate in periodic system reviews to identify gaps and propose re-alignment strategies.
Data Warehouse
- Participate in the architecture design and development of the Data Warehouse, ensuring recoverability, resilience, data quality, integrity, and security.
- Implement and maintain version control.
- Ensure proper segregation of duties within the team for changes in test and production environments.
- Maintain current documentation related to Data Warehouse architecture, data model, and data dictionary.
- Monitor data quality, including integrity, accuracy, and consistency, and establish goals for improvements.
- Perform design and development activities for Data Warehouse integration with third-party systems.
- Research and stay updated on emerging Data Warehouse technologies and design methods.
Business Intelligence and Reporting
- Design and drive the development and implementation of BI solutions.
- Provide ad-hoc reports as per client/end user requirements.
- Assist internal clients/end users in defining their business requirements.
- Assist/train end-users in the use of data query analysis and reporting tools.
- Promote the use of BI, BI initiatives, and reporting tools.
Performance Management
- Establish and monitor process improvements and efficiencies to improve defined KPIs.
- Carry out performance benchmarking, tuning, and optimization to achieve desired performance results from the Data Warehouse.
Qualifications
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral) - able to relate to various members of the organization.
- Ability to challenge the status quo and inspire others to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Proven experience of working under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Customer driven with the ability to prioritize issues based on impact.
- Excellent understanding of data administration and management functions (collection, analysis, distribution, etc.).
- Minimum of two years’ experience in Data Development/Data Warehousing.
- Working knowledge of ETL and ETL techniques (technologies include Microsoft SSIS and SAP Data Services).
- Experience in designing, developing, and implementing Data Warehouse environments.
- Hands-on experience with SQL, PL/SQL, and Transact SQL.
- Knowledge of Data Reporting and KPIs.
- Possess a first degree level of education in IT or Engineering or equivalent specialized training in data warehousing and/or BI.
