Role Description

This role involves diving into usage data to uncover insights that drive product and business decisions.

Uncover Key Insights: Analyze user behavior, platform usage patterns, and growth funnels to translate raw data into insights that guide product roadmaps and marketing strategies.
Build Dashboards & Tools: Develop clear, actionable dashboards and self-serve analytics solutions for cross-functional teams (Product, Growth, Marketing, etc.).
Shape Experimentation & Testing: Design and evaluate experiments (A/B tests, user engagement studies) to improve developer success, retention, and overall product adoption.
Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to define requirements and ensure projects are data-informed.
Architect Data Excellence: Evolve data pipelines, transform raw inputs into well-modeled tables, and maintain high-quality data using tools like BigQuery, dbt, and Hex.
Mentor & Elevate: Set best practices for analytics, review queries, mentor junior analysts, and introduce new approaches for advanced modeling and data storytelling.

Qualifications

Hands-On Analytics Chops: Comfortable writing complex SQL and rapidly prototyping solutions in tools like dbt, Hex, or similar analytics frameworks.
Experience with Modern Data Stacks: Familiarity with event capture (e.g., PostHog, Segment), warehousing (BigQuery or Snowflake), and a transformation layer (dbt or Airflow).
Strategic & Curious Mindset: Ability to spot patterns and connect user behavior with business outcomes; background in SaaS or developer tools is a bonus.
Communication Superpowers: Ability to translate data into compelling narratives for non-technical audiences.
Bias for Action: Quick to move from question to data exploration with a focus on driving impact.
3–5+ Years of Relevant Experience: Previous experience in a high-growth startup or data-driven tech company.
