Role Description

As a Senior Business Consultant Data & Analytics – Microsoft Fabric (m/f/x), you’ll act as the bridge between business departments and the technical side. Your responsibilities include:

• Analyzing clients’ business processes and management requirements.
• Translating requirements into key performance indicator systems, domain-specific data models, and data products.
• Overseeing implementation from initial use-case idea to productive use in day-to-day operations.
• Working on projects related to business analytics, KPI and reporting concepts, data governance, and AI using Microsoft Fabric, Semantic Models, and Power BI.
• Linking process data from ERP and CRM systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics 365 and SAP) with production and machine data.
• Ensuring insights from alerts, automations, or AI agents feed back into operational processes.
• Shaping technical implementation in collaboration with data engineering and process consultancy teams.
• Facilitating workshops with specialist departments and management.
• Prioritizing use cases based on business value and feasibility.
• Developing roadmaps for Data & Analytics and empowering key users during roll-out.
• Providing support with pre-sales activities, effort estimates, and further development of the Microsoft Fabric portfolio.

Qualifications

• Several years’ consultancy experience in data & analytics, business intelligence, or business process optimization.
• Understanding of end-to-end business processes (e.g., order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, service, or production) and their mapping in ERP and CRM systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics 365 or SAP).
• Experience in designing key performance indicator (KPI) systems, reporting and control logic, and domain-specific data models.
• Strong knowledge of Power BI and Semantic Models, with practical experience in Microsoft Fabric.
• Technical understanding of data integration, SQL, and modern data architectures (e.g., OneLake, Lakehouse, data pipelines).
• Experience with data governance from a business perspective, particularly data quality, data ownership, and master data.
• Experience in requirements gathering, prioritizing use cases, and preparing business cases.
• Confident presentation skills in workshops and experience in empowering key users.
• Ideally, industry experience in manufacturing, automotive, or steel sectors, as well as experience with process mining or AI scenarios (e.g., Fabric Data Agents and Fabric IQ).
• Analytical thinking, structured and independent work approach, strong customer focus, excellent communication skills, and teamwork ability.
• Fluent in German and very good in English.
