The Associate Director role is within HEOR’s Analytics Center of Excellence (CoE), a specialized team that provides strategic and technical support to HEOR, Market Access & Pricing, and the broader commercial organization. In this role, the Associate Director will primarily support HEOR disease/asset teams in real-world observational and claims data research activities.

  • Research initiatives include the following:
    • Conduct feasibility assessments to inform design and execution of research projects.
    • Conduct health economic and outcomes research to better characterize disease burden, healthcare resource utilization, co-morbidities, and treatment patterns in ‘real world’ populations.

  • Lead the development of study protocols, statistical analysis plans, and table shells.
  • Support statistical programmers through the execution of data queries and analyses.
  • Generate analytic reports, tables, and visualizations to communicate research findings effectively to internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional colleagues to improve efficiency of current analytics operating model.
  • Contribute to the development, enhancement, and maintenance of internal analytic tools (e.g., programming libraries, reusable macros, table templates), to support the quality and consistency of data and analyses.
  • Support HEOR disease/asset leads in assessment of research gaps and evidence generation objectives that may be addressed through observational research.

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in health economics or a related quantitative discipline (such as mathematics, statistics, economics, epidemiology).
  • Typically requires 8 years of relevant experience in health economics and outcomes research, or the equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g., Doctorate degree and 4 years of experience, Master’s degree and 6 years of experience).
  • Strong knowledge of observational research methods and their application to studies assessing disease burden, healthcare resource utilization, treatment patterns, comorbidities, and health outcomes studies in real-world patient populations.
  • Demonstrated experience applying claims-based analytic methods in epidemiologic research, including disease prevalence estimation and evaluation of patient populations, using real-world data sources.
  • Hands-on experience analyzing large patient-level healthcare datasets, including open and closed claims, EHR/EMR data, and hospital chargemaster data (e.g., MarketScan, PharMetrics Plus, eLAAD+, Premier).
  • Working knowledge of national healthcare coding systems, including diagnostic, procedure, and drug coding, as well as relevant healthcare system structures.
  • Advanced proficiency in SAS programming and Excel required.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to clearly convey complex analytic findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and manage multiple projects simultaneously in different therapeutic areas.
  • Ability to navigate and succeed in a fast-paced, dynamic, and collaborative team-based environment.

Requirements

  • Pay Range: $172,000 - $258,000.
  • This role is eligible for an annual bonus and annual equity awards.
  • Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirements.
  • Actual base salary pay will be based on a number of factors, including skills, competencies, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.

Benefits

  • Inclusive market-leading benefits to meet our employees wherever they are in their career, financial, family, and wellbeing journey.
  • Medical, dental, and vision benefits.
  • Generous paid time off (including a week-long company shutdown in the Summer and the Winter).
  • Educational assistance programs including student loan repayment.
  • A generous commuting subsidy.
  • Matching charitable donations.
  • 401(k) and so much more.

  • In this Remote-Eligible role, you can choose to be designated as:
    • Remote: work remotely five days per week and come into the office on occasion – you’re always welcome on-site;
    • Hybrid: work remotely up to two days per week;
