[Hiring] Head of Data Platform & Reporting @829 Studios

Role Description

This role involves building, scaling, and operationalizing the next generation of data infrastructure, analytics systems, and process automation architecture across the agency.

• Lead a small but specialized team to architect, implement, and maintain data systems.
• Manage and oversee Apollo, 829’s proprietary data centralization and insights platform.
• Write and review SQL & Python, influence data models, and design ETL workflows.
• Prototype features within Apollo and operate effectively in a lean environment.
• Architect measurement systems and implement forecasting and predictive models.
• Set the analytics foundation for a 300-person agency navigating rapid change.
• Be scrappy, resourceful, and hands-on while influencing the broader organization.

Qualifications

• 10+ years’ experience in the agency space, preferably in analytics, product, or hybrid roles.
• Proven ability to run small teams and ship high-impact data/analytics solutions.
• Hands-on experience with SQL, Python, DBT, APIs, ETL pipelines, and data warehousing.
• Experience operating without a large in-house engineering team.
• Ability to read, review, and contribute to application-layer code is preferred.
• Strong understanding of tracking architecture (GA4, GTM, server-side, conversion APIs).
• Demonstrated experience creating repeatable forecasting and analytical models.
• Strong analytical capabilities and history of implementing better data systems.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with various stakeholders.

• Own the evolution of Apollo, managing the product roadmap and budget.
• Lead technical direction and collaborate with engineers for scalable improvements.
• Identify and implement AI-driven workflows to improve operational efficiency.
• Ensure data models and pipelines support reliable analytics and reporting.
• Build and standardize frameworks and documentation for consistent adoption.
• Guide the agency’s measurement philosophy and oversee analytics service delivery.
• Implement forecasting and predictive modeling tools for client performance.
• Directly manage a team of specialists and support talent development.
• Spearhead change management and adoption of Apollo and analytics tools.
