[Hiring] Head of Data @Rockbot

Role Description

This role involves defining the roadmap, architecture, and systems that transform how data drives growth across the business.

• Define and execute Rockbot’s data strategy, establishing a vision and roadmap that scales from descriptive to predictive insights.
• Build and evolve Rockbot’s data stack, overseeing architecture and workflows spanning GCP, BigQuery, and modern BI tools like Looker and Tableau.
• Develop and scale ads analytics by building and maintaining data pipelines that unify ad-serving, proof-of-play, and impression data.
• Drive advertising and monetization insights by partnering with Product and Ad Ops to develop attribution models, dashboards, and measurement frameworks.
• Lead analytics and experimentation by building self-service dashboards and defining core business metrics.
• Champion AI enablement by developing clean, well-labeled datasets and scalable pipelines that power AI and personalization initiatives.
• Drive data-informed decision-making by delivering insights that shape product direction, monetization, and operational strategy.
• Shape data governance and quality to ensure accuracy, security, and compliance across ingestion, transformation, and access layers.
• Build and mentor a high-impact team, recruiting and developing data talent.
• Foster a data-driven culture by empowering team members to access insights independently through reliable data models and intuitive dashboards.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience across data engineering, analytics, BI, or data science.
• 5+ years leading teams at high-growth SaaS, adtech, or consumer tech companies.
• Proven experience building and scaling data platforms (warehouse, ETL/ELT, modeling, governance).
• Strong proficiency in SQL and Python, plus hands-on experience with dbt, Airflow, Hex, Tableau, Looker (or equivalent modern data tools).
• Experience building analytical models, experimentation frameworks, and performance dashboards.
• Familiarity with cloud environments such as AWS or GCP and emerging ML/AI toolchains.
• Excellent communication skills — able to translate complex data problems into clear business narratives.
• A player-coach mindset: willing to roll up your sleeves while building the long-term structure and talent pipeline.

Benefits

• Compensation band for this role is $225K - $250K, plus equity, and benefits for all team members.
