Role Description
As a Data Scientist, you will play a critical role in uncovering insights that drive our data product strategy. You will leverage your analytical expertise, curiosity, and problem-solving skills to translate raw data into actionable insights. You will own analyzing data to validate product opportunities and will work closely with Product, Engineering, and Business teams to convert ideas into customer facing data products. With a team player mindset, you're eager to contribute wherever needed, leveraging your diverse skill set to support partner teams and drive overall business success. No task is too small when it comes to making an impact.
- Analyze shipping data to identify opportunities for new product features and improvements
- Investigate trends in carrier performance, delivery times, shipping costs, and user behavior
- Explore patterns in label creation, package tracking, and insurance attachment rates
- Build data-driven prototypes, such as predictive delivery estimates and cost-saving tools
- Present findings clearly to Product and Engineering teams to inform product strategy
- Develop and maintain self-serve dashboards in Sigma for internal teams and customers
- Ensure dashboards are accurate, performant, and user-friendly
- Collaborate with Engineering to improve data pipelines and data models
- Support A/B testing and experiments with statistical analysis
- Interpret experiment results and provide actionable recommendations
- Respond to ad hoc data requests from marketing, sales, and customer success
- Use SQL and Python to analyze data from multiple sources
- Synthesize insights into clear and practical business recommendations
- Collaborate with Data Scientists and Engineers to implement analytics in production
- Communicate analytical findings effectively to technical and non-technical audiences
- Gather business requirements and translate them into data-driven solutions
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in data analytics, data science, or a related role
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related STEM field
- Strong proficiency in SQL for querying and manipulating large datasets
- Experience with BI tools (Sigma, Looker, Tableau, Power BI, or similar)
- Practical application of data wrangling, data cleaning, and exploratory data analysis (EDA)
- Ability to translate business questions into structured analytical problems
- Willingness to take on a wide range of tasks, big or small, stepping in wherever needed to drive business success
- Understanding of statistical methods and machine learning techniques to extract deeper insights from data
- Proficiency with Python for data analysis
- Knowledge of A/B testing and experiment analysis is a plus
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Excellent communication skills - able to present findings to technical and non-technical audiences
