[Hiring] Data Science Lead @Tilt Finance

Role Description

We're looking for a Lead Data Scientist to own data science across our two LATAM markets, Mexico and Brazil. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll:

• Lead a small team of data scientists across both markets while remaining an active contributor.
• Establish foundations in one market and support a more mature practice in the other.

How You'll Make an Impact:

• Own the data science strategy and roadmap for Mexico and Brazil.
• Remain hands-on, building and shipping models alongside the team.
• Establish modelling standards, infrastructure, and delivery practices.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a small team of data scientists.
• Partner with credit leadership to understand business objectives.
• Bring structure and discipline to how the work runs.
• Contribute to methodologies that can be adopted across the wider Tilt data science organisation.

Qualifications

• Experience leading data scientists as a manager or technical lead.
• Strong applied machine learning and modelling craft.
• Understanding of credit and underwriting.
• Comfortable with ambiguity and pace in high-growth environments.
• Strong bias toward delivery and ability to connect data science to measurable business outcomes.

Requirements

• Location: Brazil, Mexico, or the US.
• Fluent in English; Portuguese is an advantage, Spanish is welcome.
