[Hiring] Data Engineer Lead @Damco Solutions

Role Description

We are looking for a hands-on, talented SENIOR DATA ENGINEER - LEAD to join our rapidly expanding team in North America. The DE Lead needs to be working in Vancouver preferably, but if the person can be accommodative in PST time-zone as well, that should be good enough.

• Manage & coordinate 6-8 Data Engineers in India Time Zone.
• Work closely with NA DEs and collaborate effectively.
• Deliver updates to stakeholders based on analytics.
• Mentor & guide data engineers on their deliverables.
• Develop, construct, test, and maintain architectures.
• Align architecture with business requirements.
• Data acquisition and develop data set processes.
• Identify ways to improve data reliability, efficiency, and quality.
• Deploy sophisticated analytics programs, machine learning, and statistical methods.
• Prepare data for predictive and prescriptive modeling.
• Find hidden patterns using data.
• Use data to automate client tasks.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in a Senior Data Engineer lead role.
• Graduate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or another quantitative field.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a Scrum team.
• Hands-on experience in relational databases (PL/SQL, Postgres, etc.).
• Experience with Version Control (e.g., git, github).
• Cloud Experience (AWS).
• Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience with relational databases.
• Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools (e.g., Airflow, Jenkins).
• Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes.

Requirements

• 10+ years of developing data solutions.
• Good understanding of Data Processing Frameworks and Orchestration Frameworks (like Airflow).
• Experience in building and optimizing data solutions using PostgreSQL.
• Working familiarity with a variety of databases (e.g., AWS Aurora, Oracle, Teradata).
