Role Description

Valiant Solutions is seeking a Business Analyst to support our agile software development practice supporting an environmentally focused Federal Government client. The agency's programs aim to promote environmental sustainability and protect the natural resources of our planet. As part of this contract, we will be supporting the agency's efforts to develop and maintain information systems that facilitate the tracking and reporting of environmental data.

As a Business Analyst, the role will involve:

• Working closely with the project team to gather and analyze business requirements.
• Translating requirements into functional specifications.
• Identifying potential areas of improvement in business processes.
• Collaborating with stakeholders to identify solutions and improvements.
• Ensuring that the system's user interface and user experience meet the needs of stakeholders.
• Assisting in designing intuitive and user-friendly interfaces.
• Participating in user acceptance testing to verify that the system meets the functional and non-functional requirements.
• Assisting in the development and implementation of new information systems.
• Supporting the project manager in tracking and managing project timelines and deliverables.
• Communicating progress and issues to stakeholders on a regular basis.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
• Experience with business analysis methodologies, tools, and techniques.
• Experience with Agile and Waterfall project methodologies.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Experience with process mapping and modeling tools such as Visio or JIRA is preferred.
• Understanding of environmental regulations and sustainability practices is a plus.
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field is preferred, but not required.

Requirements

• Analyze business processes, systems, and data to identify areas of improvement and recommend solutions.
• Work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, document processes, and help develop project plans.
• Develop business cases and feasibility studies to support new initiatives and process improvements.
• Develop detailed business requirements documents and functional specifications.
• Collaborate with developers and project managers to ensure solutions meet business needs and are delivered on time and within budget.
• Develop and maintain project plans, status reports, and other project-related documentation.
• Conduct user acceptance testing to ensure solutions meet business requirements.
• Facilitate meetings and workshops with stakeholders to gather requirements and resolve issues.
• Develop training materials and provide training to end-users as needed.
