[Hiring] Business Analysis Specialist I @PPG

Role Description

The Business Analysis Expert will collaborate with PPG’s Global Businesses to develop and clarify business processes, document, and communicate business requirements, and assure IT products and services are aligned with business needs. Emphasis on activities in the China region but will work with a global IT team to deliver on these activities.

The Business Analysis Expert can be technology generalists or specialists, providing an array of services such as:

• Business process improvement
• Priority-setting facilitation
• Project definition or design
• Broker IT and contract services

The candidate should have:

• 4+ years of experience in IT, business process design, or relevant consulting roles with proven success of project implementations
• Complex problem solving and decision-making skills
• Extensive knowledge of the assigned business area's products and processes
• Experience in the strategic use of technology in managing and growing a business
• Extensive experience in business process re-engineering utilizing tools and techniques to effect business change
• Strong technical knowledge and ability to express complex technical concepts in terms that are understandable to business users
• Competent at managing time and delivering consistent results
• Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
• Ability to act effectively as a team member
• Ability to provide direction on complex scenarios that lead to process change
• Influence portfolio planning priorities and outcomes
• Strong coaching skills with the ability to mentor and direct others

Qualifications

• A degree or higher in Information Systems Management, Computer Science, Engineering, a related discipline, or equivalent experience
• 4+ years of IT, business process engineering, project management, or a related discipline experience
• Experience with ERP systems is desired but not required; knowledge of SAP system is highly beneficial
• Ability to interact with and lead both technical (IT) team members and business team members to achieve project success
• Strong understanding of business process mapping and design
• Strong analytical and conceptual skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills, including technical writing
• Ability to collaborate within a global team & positive team spirit
• Comfortable working remotely using primarily virtual means of collaboration
• Able to work without close supervision
• Fluent communication in Chinese and English
• Highly motivated with a commitment to delivering high quality work in a dynamic fast-paced environment

Requirements

• Ability to communicate with all levels of management
• Excellent knowledge of PPG’s products and processes
• Understanding of the existing IT non-ERP solutions used by multiple PPG businesses
• Extensive experience in the strategic use of technology in managing and growing a business
• Understanding of how IT impacts an organization and ability to link it to redesigned business processes
• In-depth experience in helping businesses articulate a future business vision in terms of redesigned business processes and related business requirements
• Previous experience in business process re-engineering or process improvement
• Detailed knowledge of applications & technology directions and their capability to contribute to solving business problems
• Experienced in project management methodologies and practices and execution of large enterprise projects
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including technical writing such as White Papers or training material
• Comfortable in a non-hierarchical, flat organization and able to thrive in an unstructured hands-on environment
• Demonstrate flexibility and the ability to learn quickly to develop effective working relationships across a diverse team
