Role Description
The contractor will be part of the APAC Research Team and will be responsible for the monitoring of economic, political, and regulatory developments in the Developed APAC region (Japan, South Korea, Australia and New Zealand). This position is a remote research contractor role, requiring 1–3 years of work experience.
- Conducting primary and secondary research to monitor macroeconomic, political, and business developments in the Developed APAC region, and analyzing their implications for multinational companies
- Supporting the creation of analysis and presentations advising senior executives in multinational companies on business implications of economic developments in Developed APAC
- Writing research deliverables that are concise and impactful for a senior executive reader
- Presenting to senior executives on the economic developments in Developed APAC markets and their business implications
- Offering exposure to different facets of market research
- Providing a stimulating and collaborative work environment
- Developing research and analytical skills based on areas of interest
- Providing opportunities to listen in on discussions with senior executives, to see how firms utilize macroeconomic analysis in their business planning
- Providing constructive feedback and coaching to ensure skill development
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's (or preferably Master’s) degree from a top-tier academic institution in a relevant field, ideally Economics
- Exceptional communication skills in English; able to distill complex and technical topics for non-specialists
- Strong economics knowledge, demonstrated through academic coursework or practical experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of key Developed APAC markets through academic and/or professional research experience
- Research experience (in an academic or professional setting) including hypothesis-testing, structuring complex research projects, primary and secondary research, survey-building, and other techniques
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially PowerPoint and Excel)
- Demonstrated ability to cover a variety of topics and issues, including unfamiliar ones
- Familiarity with quantitative economic analysis
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- A team-oriented mindset
Requirements
- Preferred: working proficiency in a Developed APAC language
