[Hiring] Senior Travel Consultant @Direct Travel

Role Description

The Senior Travel Consultant will be delivering courteous and consultative travel arrangements. Responsibilities include:

• Demonstrate expertise in routing, faring, and travel logistics for domestic and international reservations including air, car, hotel, and rail.
• Adhere to company policies and client travel policy and booking requirements.
• Document reservations according to standards and provide lowest, logical fare options.
• Exhibit experience through a consultative approach with customers and problem-solving skills.
• Mentor less experienced team members and new employees.
• Assist with multiple accounts for Corporate, Marine, Energy, and Offshore clients when needed.
• Support urgent and time-sensitive travel needs, handle emergency situations, and manage multiple clients simultaneously.
• Provide after-hours coverage during weekdays and scheduled weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Corporate Travel Advisor experience.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to build strong client relationships.
• Overall understanding of technology platforms, GDS functions, Microsoft applications.
• Able to work in cross-functional teams.
• Strong knowledge of international reservations, geographies, faring, and routings.
• Consultative service skills and problem-solving abilities.
• Expertise in Corporate, Marine, Offshore, and Energy travel industry.
• Capable of sharing knowledge and mentoring others.
• Shows initiative by looking for opportunities to improve processes and making suggestions.
• Supportive of management and company objectives.

Requirements

• Proficient in all aspects of domestic and international travel, including air, car, hotel, and rail.
• Deliver operational requirements and apply appropriate travel policy guidelines according to client specifications.
• Ensure data quality standards are met, including reporting elements and traveler profile information.
• Follow best practices for booking and issuing tickets, including all reservation elements, seat assignments, and special requests.
• Provide advice and consultation to clients for international documentation.
• Master proprietary and third-party technologies required to perform job functions.
• Demonstrate proficiency in applications, including telephony and computer skills.
• Exhibit industry expertise and international reservation skills.
• Knowledgeable of Corporate, Marine, and Energy/Offshore client requirements.
• Understand requirements of Corporate, Marine, and Energy/Offshore published and contract fares.
• Work efficiently to provide prompt service and meet productivity standards.
• Manage incoming calls and emails within service level expectations.
• Ensure tickets and informational requests are provided in a timely manner.
• Maintain queues and follow up on client requests.
• Assist team members with overflow work and tasks.
• Make suggestions for process improvement.
• Take initiative to solve problems and report solutions to management.
• Uphold company policies and procedures; make suggestions for quality improvements or efficiencies.
• Demonstrate teamwork and support co-workers and management.
• Volunteer for departmental projects or company initiatives.
• Maintain rapport and work professionally with suppliers, vendors, and third-party companies.
• Take steps to avoid debit memos and errors.
• Embrace technology initiatives.
