The San Diego County Employees Retirement Association (SDCERA) has an opening for:

• RETIREMENT MEMBER SERVICE ASSOCIATE

Interviews are expected to begin shortly after the application period closes. The department will reach out to candidates to invite them to participate in an interview.

The starting salary for this position will be based on the candidate’s qualifications at the time of appointment.

• Future Salary Increases:
• June 2026 – 4.49% increase to base pay (3.00% Across-the-Board + 1.49% Market Adjustment)
• June 2027 – 4.49% increase to base pay (3.00% Across-the-Board + 1.49% Market Adjustment)

Retirement Member Services Associate positions include a wide variety of responsibilities that are all geared towards helping County employees plan for and enjoy their retirement. The job duties include but are not limited to:

• Data input
• Research
• Analysis
• Benefit calculations
• Customer service

The Associate position plays an integral role in this mission. We are looking for highly motivated and talented individuals who have great attention to detail, excellent customer service, and truly enjoy helping people.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree from an accredited U.S. college or university, or a certified foreign studies equivalency; OR
• Two (2) years of experience performing financial calculations, statistical/metrics analysis, and data review.

Benefits

• Pre-employment Medical Screening: Approximately 3 days following successful background investigation results.
• Anticipated Start Date: Based upon successful completion of medical screening or other mutually agreed upon date.

Hiring Timeline and Date

• Job offers and background process begins shortly after interviews. Note: Current County employees may be excluded from additional background screening.

Condition of Employment

• Background check (including fingerprinting) and a pre-employment medical screening prior to beginning County employment.
• Additional types of background investigations may be conducted based on the job-related activities of the position.

Evaluation Process

The names of qualified applicants will be placed on a six (6) month eligible list based on scores received during the evaluation of information contained in their employment and supplemental application.
