Role Description

The Reimbursement Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of assigned regional billing center staff in achieving accounts receivable financial goals. This position will ensure the delivery of quality service and results through training, adherence to company best practices, and development of staff on a continual basis. Essential Functions:

• Oversees day-to-day schedule, assignment of work, direction, and development of staff in achieving financial results as a primary function.
• Directly manages 8-12 staff.
• Trains regional billing center staff to meet performance expectations.
• Maintains staff attendance functions; oversees time cards and time off requests.
• Independently makes decisions on the majority of write-offs and adjustments, with authority to approve up to $500 per claim.
• Evaluates staff performance; 90-day and annual reviews.
• Performs staff discipline as needed.
• Provides final recommendations on hiring to the Reimbursement Manager; solicits final approval.
• Notifies Reimbursement Manager of account receivable challenges and payer trends.
• Responds to and resolves incoming phone calls and emails from internal and external customers.
• Ensures all billing and collections practices follow company best practices, as well as state and federal regulations.

Other Functions:

• Assists in BCC workloads for the department during staff absences.
• Oversees assembly and analysis of files for audits.
• Attends payer seminars and educational events.
• Participates in a leadership role in staff meetings.
• Reviews industry literature and communicates pertinent information to direct reports.
• Mentors Billing & Collections Coordinators, and identifies those that are promotable.
• Performs related duties as required.

• Experience in billing and collections.
• Strong leadership and management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; further education preferred.
• Proven experience in a supervisory role.
• Knowledge of billing and collections practices.
• Familiarity with state and federal regulations related to billing.
