Role Description

A Pre Service Specialist works in a fast paced call center environment. They receive incoming and make outgoing phone calls while serving as a liaison between patients, payers, and other health care team members. The Pre Service Specialist II is responsible for:

• Order management
• Verifying patient demographics, insurance information, medical necessity, and pre-authorization requirements
• Calculating patient estimates based on the service scheduled, contracted plan, reimbursement allowances, benefits, and out of pocket thresholds
• Assisting in rescheduling patient appointments when required
• Performing a preliminary Financial Assistance screening to determine eligibility for assistance programs
• Facilitating applications and scheduling appointments with the Financial Navigation Team

Qualifications

• Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
• Preferred: 1 year pre-registration, scheduling, financial counseling or equivalent education/experience

Requirements

• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of medical terminology or CPT or procedure codes
• Strong computer and relevant application use skills
• Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
• Ability to effectively adapt and respond to urgent needs and requests
• Demonstrates initiative and self-motivation
• Demonstrates understanding and consistent practice of need for privacy and confidentiality
• Preferred: CHAA or CRCR
