[Hiring] Pool Server @Gale Hotels

Role Description

The Pool Server is responsible for taking food and beverage orders and ensuring the owners and guests are served in a courteous and timely manner. The position is responsible for also maintaining solid product knowledge, providing assistance, and making suggestions to guests regarding product decisions.

• Warmly welcome guests, inform them of any specials, and answer any questions.
• Take food and beverage orders, make recommendations, and up-sell items.
• Accurately time and input food and beverage orders utilizing the POS computers.
• Prepare checks that itemize and total meal costs and sales taxes and present to guests; collect payment from customers and make change.
• Serve food and beverages to guests, checking back with them to ensure satisfaction and take actions necessary to provide for their needs or correct any problems with a sense of urgency.
• Pre-bus pool area as necessary during service; removing any unused and/or dirty dishes, utensils, glasses, and trash, taking them to the kitchen for cleaning.
• Complete assorted pre-shift and post-shift side-work as assigned by the manager.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Pool Server or similar role in a restaurant.
• Cash handling experience a must.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Familiarity with restaurant management software (POS).
• Strong customer service skills.
• Flexibility to work in shifts, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills.

Requirements

• High School degree, GED or Equivalent.
• Excellent verbal communication skills in English and Spanish (preferred).
• Excellent verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with guests, associates, and external partners.
• Ability to work well under pressure and respond quickly and effectively to emergencies.
