Role Description

This role involves supporting the Peer-to-Peer Community and Feel Out Loud Community Creator Space at Kids Help Phone (KHP). The successful candidate will help maintain a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment for young people seeking mental health support.

  • Monitor incoming posts on the Peer-to-Peer platform for safety concerns, providing supportive feedback to young people.
  • Respond thoughtfully and promptly to youth in need.
  • Identify high-risk or unique posts and escalate them to the Clinical team for review.
  • Review and summarize platform conversations to inform service development and scaling decisions.
  • Contribute to shaping online conversations by hosting discussions and engaging youth on relevant topics.
  • Support peer-to-peer integration activities as assigned by the Program Delivery Manager.
  • Assist in the expansion and engagement of the Peer-to-Peer platform, including testing new features.
  • Support external engagement and outreach initiatives as requested.
  • Conduct research and prepare written summaries, updates, and reports as assigned.
  • Participate in departmental and team meetings for wellness check-ins and discussions of emerging trends.
  • Work assigned shifts based on peak engagement times on the Peer-to-Peer forums.
  • Contribute to additional Kids Help Phone projects as opportunities arise.

Qualifications

  • Availability Monday to Sunday, including evenings, for approximately 1–3 hours per day (10–15 hours per week).
  • Experience or interest in mental health content, health promotion, or online/social media youth advocacy.
  • Comfort engaging young people in conversations related to mental health, wellness, and peer support.
  • Ability to manage projects and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong professionalism, discretion, and commitment to youth safety.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Strong written communication skills; responsive, reliable, and detail-oriented.
  • Enthusiasm for innovation and exploring new ideas to improve services for youth.
  • Proven ability to work independently and take accountability for tasks.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a remote team environment.
