Role Description

Our client is seeking a Patient Accounts Specialist to support patients with insurance, billing, and payment-related inquiries. This fully remote role (Minnesota residents only) focuses on resolving patient balances, verifying insurance benefits, assisting with payment plans, and delivering excellent customer service in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

• Follow up with patients on outstanding balances and payment arrangements.
• Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and claims.
• Resolve billing and insurance-related inquiries.
• Assist patients with financial responsibility, payment plans, and financial assistance options.
• Utilize payer portals, EMR systems, and Excel to research and document account activity.
• Manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and exceptional customer service.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of patient accounts, healthcare revenue cycle, or patient financial services experience.
• Experience with insurance claims, benefits verification, and patient billing.
• Familiarity with payer portals (Availity preferred) and EMR systems.
• Intermediate Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables) and Microsoft Office proficiency.
• Strong communication, organization, and customer service skills.
• High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree not required.
