Role Description

The Part-Time On-Call Representative manages the delivery of in-home care to catastrophically ill or injured clients across Michigan during weekend non-business hours. Operating remotely in a high-pressure, time-sensitive environment, this role coordinates care logistics in conjunction with Client Service Managers, negotiates staff pay rates, and ensures seamless client coverage.

Note: This is a remote position, but candidates must reside in Michigan to attend mandatory initial training at our headquarters in Farmington Hills, MI.

Shift Details & Compensation

• Shift Times: 24-hour shifts running from Friday 5:00 PM to Saturday 5:00 PM, and Saturday 5:00 PM to Sunday 5:00 PM.
• Schedule Flexibility: Part-time availability. Candidates can select one specific shift (Friday or Saturday) or opt to cover both weekend shifts based on desire and availability.
• Pay Rate: Flat rate of $250 per 24-hour shift.
• Availability Expectation: Candidates must remain reachable and available to answer or return calls at any point during the 24-hour shift window.

Location & Training Requirements

• Location: Remote (Must reside in the state of Michigan).
• Training: In-person training is required at our HQ in Farmington Hills, MI with Operations and Client Service Managers (CSMs) prior to starting remote shifts.

Essential Functions

• Complete required in-office training at the Farmington Hills HQ.
• Answer all incoming calls during the shift, returning any missed calls within 10 minutes.
• Document detailed notes in real-time and submit a completed report by 10:00 AM the morning after the shift ends.
• Communicate effectively with clients, field staff, CSMs, and Operational Directors.
• Fill open home-care shifts strategically while managing margins, utilization, and minimizing overtime/high pay rates.
• Assist staff with basic tablet issues and submit IT support tickets when necessary.
• Schedule or update client shifts within the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system.
• Maintain a calm, professional composure and apply critical thinking during high-stress, urgent situations.

Qualifications

• Preferred Background: Medical, Call Center, or Emergency Medical Services (EMS) experience is strongly preferred.
• Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Location Requirement: Must currently reside in Michigan and be able to commute to Farmington Hills for training.
• Skills & Attributes:

  • Strong critical thinking, negotiation, judgment, and problem-solving skills for time-sensitive issues.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and real-time documentation habits.
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills across internal and external partners.
  • Proficiency or comfort navigating digital tools and EMR systems.
