Role Description

The Order Change Request Logger ensures that customer requests to change orders are captured accurately and communicated to the appropriate decision-makers. This role involves:

• Reading incoming online or email messages.
• Linking each request to the correct order.
• Explaining the next steps using approved information.
• Maintaining a clear distinction between request received and change approved.
• Recording requests or correcting simple contact details without promising changes.
• Acknowledging customer inquiries and passing along order statuses.

Messages may include requests to:

• Change a quantity.
• Update a delivery instruction.
• Correct a recipient name.
• Cancel an item.

Practical actions include:

• Finding an order by its supplied reference.
• Separating several requested changes in one email.
• Recording the exact item or delivery instruction the customer wants altered.
• Noting whether the request is awaiting information, awaiting review, or already resolved.
• Asking for a missing order reference or clarification when necessary.
• Directing pricing, payment, or fulfillment decisions to the responsible colleague.
• Sending an approved acknowledgment without implying the change is guaranteed.
• Updating the log when a later message changes the customer’s instruction.
• Checking that the final response matches the decision recorded by the team.

Qualifications

• Previous order processing or office administration experience is helpful but not required.
• Comfortable reading closely and recording requests in plain language.
• Ability to ask sensible follow-up questions.
• Experience in retail, hospitality, or another customer-facing setting is transferable.

Requirements

• Reliable time management skills.
• Ability to maintain a calm tone when dealing with disappointed customers.
• Suitable home office area for focused work.

Benefits

• Remote work arrangement (full-time or part-time).
• Pay: £29.50–£31.50 per hour.
