[Hiring] Insurance Billing Specialist @TEKsystems

Role Description

TEKsystems is seeing an Insurance Billing Specialist to join our client's team in a remote setting. Chosen individual MUST have experience with insurance billing and follow up with Medicaid Payers in Illinois and/or Iowa.

This position will be performing Physician Billing and Follow up/Denials work. Looking for experience in this space and candidates with knowledge and experience working with Medicaid payers, specifically IL and IA payers. Also looking for Epic experience and payer portal knowledge, specifically using Availity to submit claim corrections and reconsiderations.

The Insurance Billing and Follow Up Specialist II will be responsible for performing all billing and follow-up functions, including:

• Investigation of payment delays resulting from no response, denied, rejected and/or pending claims.
• Maximizing reimbursements and ensuring that claims are paid in a timely manner.
• Strong decision-making ability around complex claims processing workflows and regulations.
• Utilization of data from multiple resources.
• Understanding of the entire Revenue Cycle and interaction with Government and Commercial insurances.

Daily Duties:

• Work with centralized cash posting team to resolve missing or unposted remits.
• Ensure all claims are accurately transmitted daily and all appropriate documentation is sent when required.
• Verify eligibility and claims status on unpaid claims.
• Provide timely feedback to management of identified claims issues, repetitive errors, and payer trends to expedite claims adjudication.
• Work accounts in assigned queues in accordance with departmental guidelines.
• Work directly with third party payers and internal/external customers toward effective claims resolution.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Must have Iowa and/or Illinois Medicaid payer experience.
• Physician Billing and Denial/Follow Up experience - 2+ years.
• EPIC experience.
• Payer portal claim corrections and reconsiderations knowledge (e.g., Availity).
• Work from home space required.
