Role Description

As a Customer Service Consultant, you will be the vital link between a customer’s at-home and in-store CarMax experience, providing a simple and seamless process.

• Respond to sales leads and customer inquiries, ensuring customers can buy the vehicle they want in a way that suits them.
• Offer support during every step of their car buying journey.
• Connect with inbound customers online and over the phone to find out what they want and need from their next car purchase.
• Use your knowledge of the CarMax inventory to guide customers towards vehicles that meet their needs.
• Guide customers every step of the way, from online sales or appraisal to arranging finance applications and scheduling vehicle delivery.
• Ensure a seamless transition from online to in-store purchasing to provide an unrivaled customer service experience.
• Mentor others as your skillset expands.
• Achieve sales targets while providing an iconic customer experience.
• Acquire the Automotive Salespersons License in specific states – may require testing and travel as some states request physical presence to apply for the license.
• Receive an hourly rate, with the opportunity to earn a performance-based sales incentive after training.
• Work as part of a team in a high-energy sales environment to meet goals.
• Handle a wide range of customer interactions and ensure everything goes smoothly.

Qualifications

• Sales and customer service experience, in an area such as retail, is preferred.
• Thrive in a fast-paced sales environment.
• Good listening skills and a strong customer focus.
• High level of self-motivation to achieve performance goals.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to learn and master new technologies; strong computer skills.
• Open availability for shifts that may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be open to shifting schedules two times per year according to needs of the business.
• Must meet minimum technology requirements (type of internet service and speed of internet service).
• Candidates must live in the state of Wisconsin.
• Candidates must live within 60 miles or 1 hour of the Customer Experience Center (CEC) location.

Benefits

• Paid sick, vacation, and holiday time.
• Earn up to 48 hours of sick time per year accrued on a per pay period basis.
• Between 80 hours and 200 hours per year of vacation time after a 90 day waiting period depending on years of continuous service with the Company.
• 8 hours of pay for each of a total of 6 paid scheduled holidays per year plus 1 floating holiday.
• Eligible for Holiday Premium Pay if working on a scheduled holiday due to business need.
• Full-time salaried associates are entitled to paid time away with no specified limit as needed for sick, vacation, bereavement, jury duty, holidays, floating holiday, etc. subject to manager approval.
