Role Description

The BSA Advisor is responsible for providing expert guidance and oversight on the organization's Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) compliance program. This role ensures that the firm adheres to all applicable laws and regulations, identifies and mitigates risks, and supports the development and implementation of effective compliance strategies.

• Reviews and analyzes transaction activity to detect potential suspicious activity and ensure compliance with BSA/AML regulations.
• Develops and maintains policies and procedures.
• Conducts risk assessments and provides recommendations for process improvements.
• Collaborates with internal teams to deliver training.
• Supports audits and regulatory examinations.
• Prepares detailed reports for senior management.
• Monitors regulatory changes and investigates compliance issues.
• Participates in special projects to enhance the BSA/AML program.
• Manages the annual performance management and merit processes for direct and indirect reports as applicable.
• Coaches and develops team members and builds a work environment where team members are engaged and feel a positive sense of achievement about their role in the company.
• Works closely with Human Resources regarding employee relations, compensation, training, posting and filling vacant positions and other Human Resources related matters.
• Each team member is expected to be aware of risk within their functional area, including observing all policies, procedures, laws, regulations, and risk limits specific to their role.
• Raises and reports known or suspected violations to the appropriate Company authority in a timely fashion.
• Meets all the client's financial needs, both business and personal, and refers clients to other specialty areas such as Trust, Investments, Insurance, Treasury Management, etc. as appropriate.
• Assists other team members as needed to ensure delivery of distinctive service.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in business, finance, law, or a related field.
• Minimum Experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience in BSA/AML compliance, audit, or risk management within the financial services industry is required.
• Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Strong knowledge of BSA/AML regulations, compliance best practices, and risk assessment methodologies is essential.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills are necessary.
• Professional certifications such as CAMS or similar are preferred.
