Role Description

Combine your business development expertise with a passion for international education as the Internship Placement Manager for Spain. In this role, you will take full ownership of growing and managing our host company network across Spain's premier business hubs, primarily focused on Barcelona and Madrid. At its heart, this is a placement and business development role:

• Research prospects, drive cold outreach, pitch partnerships, and match ambitious international students with life-changing internship opportunities.
• Drive the front-end sales pipeline during the sourcing season and transition into a relationship manager to ensure high-quality placement experiences.
• Placement Coordinator will support you with administrative tasks and interview scheduling.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in business development, corporate sales, agency recruitment, or account management with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding commercial targets.
• Fully fluent in both English and Spanish (written and spoken).
• Strong proficiency in managing sales pipelines within CRM platforms.
• Based in Spain (Madrid preferred) with deep knowledge of the local corporate landscape and startup ecosystems.
• Excellent presentation and public speaking skills.

Requirements

• Own and scale Absolute Internship's corporate network across Spain by researching, sourcing, and converting cold prospects into signed partners.
• Execute sustained outbound business development activity, including cold calling and direct outreach campaigns.
• Target and secure overlooked opportunities, including multinational corporations with regional offices in Spain, growing tech scale-ups, and international startup hubs.
• Develop project-based collaborations with companies during the low season.
• Use the low season to strategically re-engage past host companies and secure early commitments for the upcoming cycle.
• Maintain an accurate, conversion-focused CRM pipeline to track every stage of the business development funnel.
• Bring localized market insights and business development data back to Regional Leadership.
• Match international students to the right host companies.
• Support students through interview preparation and placement readiness.
• Maintain rigorous quality standards across all host companies.
• Turn newly acquired accounts into long-term partners and brand advocates.
• Oversee and direct the seasonal Placement Coordinator.
• Collaborate closely with the Student Experience, Operations, and Regional Leadership teams.
