Role Description

This role will play a key role in helping scale up the business development functions of the company, particularly acting as a key point of contact for inbound leads. This position entails:

• Assessing lead quality
• Engaging in client conversations
• Converting prospects into clients and long-term strategic partners
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records in CRM tools for comprehensive reporting
• Serving as a subject matter expert on sustainability and business aviation
• Applying critical thinking to analyze how sustainability principles impact stakeholders in the business aviation sector

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain long-term client relationships by engaging prospective clients, understanding their needs, and converting opportunities into strategic partnerships.
• Qualify and assess inbound leads through introductory conversations, prioritizing high-potential business opportunities for the sales team.
• Manage timely and personalized follow-up with leads to nurture relationships and drive successful conversions.
• Support clients throughout the sales journey, helping them select and implement suitable programmes aligned to their requirements.
• Maintain accurate CRM records to ensure effective reporting, lead attribution, pipeline visibility, and performance tracking.
• Collaborate closely with marketing and programme teams to achieve sales objectives, deliver client expectations, and optimize lead generation and conversion strategies.
• Drive business development activities through industry events, strategic partnerships, trade associations, and stakeholder engagement across Europe and other relevant markets.
• Act as a subject matter expert in sustainability and business aviation, staying informed of industry developments, representing thought leadership, and supporting the organisation at conferences, forums, and other industry events.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of sales and business development principles, with the ability to position products and services effectively in a competitive market.
• Knowledge of client requirements relating to emissions reporting, sustainability programmes, and relevant regulatory and voluntary schemes.
• Highly organised and results-driven, with the ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain exceptional attention to detail.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, capable of building and maintaining effective relationships with clients, colleagues, management, and external stakeholders.
• Innovative and proactive mindset, with strong critical thinking skills and the ability to identify and capitalize on new opportunities.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively within a collaborative, small-team environment.
• Outstanding presentation, verbal, and written communication skills, including the ability to influence stakeholders and create compelling sales materials.
• Experience in sales or business development, proficiency with CRM systems such as Salesforce, strong IT skills, and fluency in an additional European language (preferably German).
• Knowledge of the aviation industry.

Requirements

• Working knowledge of sustainability industry, including carbon offsets, sustainable fuels, and new technology.
• Working knowledge of European sustainability and climate policy frameworks, including the EU Emissions Trading System (EU ETS), ReFuelEU Aviation, Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and related reporting obligations.
• Working knowledge of EASA Regulations applicable to business aircraft industry.
