[Hiring] Director of Capital Partnerships @Trust Neighborhoods

Role Description

The Director of Capital Partnerships will work to scale how the MINT model is funded, reporting to Trust Neighborhoods CEO, Kavya Shankar. This role will lead two parallel bodies of work:

• Local MINT fundraising:
  • Work alongside neighborhood partners to raise money for individual MINTs.
  • Focus on capital raising in Kansas City, Fresno, Denver, East Cleveland, St. Louis, and Detroit, with Louisville and other areas coming online soon.
• National capital strategy:
  • Raise a complementary pool of national capital and cultivate a community of national funders.
  • Manage and grow the Trust Neighborhoods Acquisition and Bridge (TAB) facility.
  • Lead the fundraise for a new longer-duration, subordinated debt vehicle.

The Director of Capital Partnerships will take on increasing ownership of relationship sourcing and managing follow-ups over time.

Qualifications

• Eight-plus years of experience in sales, fundraising, or a related field, with progressively increasing responsibility.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
• Proven track record of raising non-grant capital and managing the full investor lifecycle.
• Experience in project management in a high-volume, multi-stakeholder environment.
• Mature sales discipline with the ability to create and manage an investor or client sales funnel.
• Ability to translate complex financial structures into clear narratives for diverse audiences.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Deep commitment to affordable housing, community development, and racial and economic justice.
• This role is remote but will require travel to twice-yearly full-team retreats and regular travel to MINT neighborhoods.
• Preferred background includes an entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

• Lead local MINT fundraising efforts.
• Partner with neighborhood-based organizations to design and execute fundraising plans.
• Manage the full investor lifecycle for local fundraises.
• Own the high volume of investor calls and follow-ups.
• Lead problem solving on possible structuring for capital.
• Translate the MINT model into compelling materials for local funders.
• Codify learnings from successful local fundraises.
• Design Trust Neighborhoods' national capital strategy.
• Manage and grow the TAB facility.
• Develop relationships with anchor/lead investors and capital partners.
• Identify and steward national funder and investor relationships.
• Partner with the Managing Director of MINTs on capital products.
• Contribute to Trust Neighborhoods' strategic direction.
• Partner with the leadership team on philanthropic fundraising.
• Represent Trust Neighborhoods externally with funders and partners.
