Role Description

Yellow Card is the largest and first licensed stablecoin-based infrastructure provider, operating in 20 African countries and the emerging markets. Our mission is to empower businesses of all sizes, making it easier for them to make international payments, protect their financial assets, manage their treasury function, and access hard currency liquidity.

We are creating β€œfinancial infrastructure that works” disrupting the financial services industry by offering innovative solutions designed to meet the distinct needs of – and real-world challenges faced on a daily basis by – our customers. Leveraging the power of stablecoins pegged 1:1 to the U.S. dollar (e.g. USDC, USDT, and PYUSD), we deliver our innovative solutions through our commercial trading function, our B2B products (i.e. our Payments API and Treasury Portal).

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the company's goals and objectives align with the local market conditions, customer needs, and regulatory environment.
  • Conduct market analysis, advise on customer acquisition and product expansion, and develop and execute the operational strategy for the market.
  • Establish strong banking and payment service provider (PSP) networks.
  • Undertake bank account applications with reputable banks and acquiring PSPs for integration with the company.
  • Structure bank accounts and PSP usage for loadshading and backup needs.
  • Maintain business relationships with the banks and payment service providers.
  • Contribute to the company's revenue by acquiring high-value commercial clients for B2B and commercial transactions.
  • Support clients through the onboarding process and maintain cordial business relationships.
  • Collaborate with the legal team to actively engage and lobby for regulations and licensing within the market.
  • Maintain professional relationships with regulators and relevant government agencies.
  • Oversee daily business operations in the market and ensure seamless operation.
  • Conduct quarterly app testing and continuously monitor app performance.
  • Identify and resolve market-related issues or challenges, and report them to the VP of Operations and other relevant parties.
  • Set and monitor the operational budget, revenue, and expenses for the country.
  • Develop effective marketing and sales strategies as well as increase brand recognition.
  • Advise on events or promotional activities for commercial clients and retail customer acquisition.
  • Undertake community service programs as may be approved by the business.
  • Build and sustain relationships with key stakeholders, regulators, relevant government authorities, business associations, and the media.
  • Collaborate and support the other functions within the market.
  • Manage cross-functional and multicultural teams.
  • Encourage a positive company culture by organising regular meetups and team bonding events.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of work experience in leadership or management roles.
  • A general knowledge base of fintech, Crypto, or the financial service industry.
  • Outstanding leadership and general management skills.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, negotiating, and networking skills.
  • Excellent research, strategic thinking, and analytical skills.
  • Highly adaptable, flexible, and resilient.
