[Hiring] Business Strategy Lead @M&T Bank

Role Description

Provides high-level analytical support in the design, development, and communication of long-term strategies in pursuit of business goals. Partners closely with business and functional experts to identify opportunities that drive customer retention, portfolio growth, and new business acquisition. Supports the development, execution, and optimization of capture & recapture strategies through data-driven insights, lead management practices, and customer engagement technologies. Works cross-functionally to achieve strategic objectives and influences peers across teams.

Primary Responsibilities

• Support the development and implementation of capture and recapture strategies designed to increase customer retention, strengthen existing customer relationships, identify origination opportunities, and drive portfolio growth.
• Partner with business stakeholders to design, execute, and optimize customer outreach campaigns and engagement initiatives across multiple channels, leveraging platforms such as Velocify, Volly, Dialer technologies, and related lead management tools.
• Analyze customer, portfolio, lead, outreach, and campaign performance data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement. Develop actionable recommendations that enhance customer engagement, conversion effectiveness, retention, and overall business performance.
• Understand and adhere to the Company's risk and regulatory standards, policies, and controls in accordance with the Company's Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
• Promote an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
• Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.

Supervisory / Managerial Responsibilities

Work leadership responsibilities. May indirectly manage other team members as it relates to specific projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and minimum of 5 years relevant work experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 9 years higher education and/or work experience.
• Strong attention to detail; ability to work independently and function as a member of a team.
• Strong analytical ability and creative problem-solving skills; strong interpersonal skills necessary for business partner relationships within and outside the organization; strong written, and verbal communication skills.
• Self-motivated, results driven, and well organized; ability to handle multiple tasks and work under time constraints in support of various assignments.

Strongly Preferred Experience

• Experience developing and executing capture and recapture strategies within mortgage.
• Experience managing outreach initiatives, lead generation and management processes, customer retention efforts, and portfolio growth strategies.
• Experience onboarding and managing Velocify, Volly, and dialer technologies to develop, execute, and track performance.
• Ability to translate data and business insights into actionable recommendations that drive recapture and business growth.

Compensation

M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $89,600.00 - $149,300.00 Annual (USD). The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation. The range listed above corresponds to our national pay range for this role. The specific pay range applicable to you may vary based on your location.
