Role Description

As our Business Development Representative, you're the tip of the spear - the first Penguin Ai voice a health plan or payer hears. You'll hunt down the decision-makers drowning in Prior Auth and HCC Coding chaos, get them excited about a platform that actually works, and hand our Sales Executives meetings with prospects who are ready to talk. You won't just fill a calendar - you'll build the pipeline that fuels our next stage of growth.

Your Day-to-Day Superpowers: What You’ll Actually Do:

• Prospect relentlessly: build and work target account lists across health plans, payers, and risk-bearing provider groups
• Open doors: run creative, multi-channel outreach (calls, email, LinkedIn, video) that cuts through payer-industry noise
• Qualify like a pro: uncover pain, budget, timing, and authority before a meeting ever hits the calendar
• Book meetings that matter: hand your Sales Executive partners a steady stream of qualified conversations, not just calendar invites
• Know the platform cold: speak fluently about Prior Auth, HCC Coding, and the administrative headaches we erase
• Partner with Marketing: turn campaigns, content, and events into pipeline, and feed insights back on what's resonating
• Keep the CRM pristine: log every touch, track every signal, and make sure nothing falls through the cracks
• Hit your numbers: own your activity and meetings-booked targets like they're personal records to beat

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of BDR/SDR or outbound sales experience, ideally in SaaS, healthcare tech, or another complex sell
• A proven track record of hitting or beating outbound quota
• Sharp written and verbal communication - you can make Prior Auth sound interesting (that's a superpower)
• Comfort with cold outreach and rejection; resilience is non-negotiable
• Familiarity with a modern sales stack (Salesforce or HubSpot, Outreach or Salesloft, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, or similar)
• Genuine curiosity about healthcare and a hunger to learn the payer and provider landscape fast
