[Hiring] Air Force Language & Culture Business Development Consultant @The Unconventional

Role Description

The Unconventional, LLC (TU) is seeking a senior Air Force Language and Culture Business Development Consultant to provide part-time, on-call consulting, advisory, and technical support in the identification, pursuit, development, and delivery of LREC solutions for the Department of the Air Force, broader Department of Defense, other federal agencies, and approved partner-nation opportunities.

The Consultant will work closely with TU leadership, Growth personnel, program teams, and subject-matter experts to:

• Identify and shape prospective opportunities.
• Strengthen customer and partner relationships.
• Support capture and proposal activities.
• Provide informed recommendations regarding Air Force and broader federal language and culture requirements.

The position requires extensive knowledge of Air Force organizations, missions, requirements, and decision-making environments, as well as the ability to engage credibly with senior military, civilian, acquisition, operational, academic, and industry stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 20 years of relevant experience supporting the U.S. Air Force or Department of the Air Force.
• Senior-level military or civilian leadership experience with demonstrated understanding of Air Force organizations, missions, operations, training requirements, and decision-making processes.
• Demonstrated experience with foreign language, regional expertise, culture, education, training, international affairs, security cooperation, professional military education, or another closely related mission area.
• Experience in business development, strategic planning, capture management, acquisition, program management, consulting, or a closely related field.
• Working knowledge of the federal business-development lifecycle.
• Understanding of Department of Defense and Air Force acquisition and contracting processes.
• Ability to review Government requirements and translate them into actionable business-development recommendations.
• Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain productive professional relationships with senior stakeholders.
• Strong interpersonal, written, verbal communication, analytical, and presentation skills.
• Ability to perform services with professionalism, discretion, sound judgment, and adherence to applicable ethics and procurement-integrity requirements.
• Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with TU/YSG leadership and other stakeholders.

Requirements

• Retired senior Air Force officer, senior enlisted leader, or senior Department of the Air Force civilian with broad experience across operational, training, education, headquarters, acquisition, international affairs, or major command environments.
• Demonstrated experience supporting Air Force LREC, language education, international education and training, Foreign Area Officer, Language Enabled Airman Program, security cooperation, partner-nation, or related missions.
• Established professional relationships across relevant Department of the Air Force organizations.
• Experience supporting Air Force requirements development, acquisition planning, contracting, program execution, or capability modernization initiatives.
• Demonstrated experience shaping or supporting successful federal business-development and capture efforts.
• Familiarity with technology-enabled learning, virtual instruction, learning management systems, or other modern instructional delivery methods.
• Ability to access Department of Defense installations, as required.
• Ability and willingness to travel throughout CONUS and OCONUS when required.
