[Hiring] Director, GTM AI Engineering @Samsara

Role Description

Samsara’s Machine Learning, AI, Analytics & Data (MAAD) team builds the intelligence and technology that helps our go-to-market teams work faster, make better decisions, and spend more time with customers.

As the Director, GTM AI Engineering you’ll run our AI Engineering team for GTM. You’ll work closely with Data Science, Analytics, and Data Engineering to serve Sales, Customer Success, Support, Enablement, and GTM leadership. This is a hands-on Director role. Expect to spend about 70% of your time building (prototyping agents, writing code, designing evals) and about 30% leading the team, setting strategy, and influencing stakeholders.

You’ll build intelligent workflow experiences, which include:

• AI agents and copilots that take manual work off sellers’ plates
• Signals for propensity and prioritization
• Data, evaluation, and measurement foundations that make these products reliable and trusted

The ideal candidate is AI-native, with experience in:

• Running work through agents daily
• Shipping AI products to production
• Excitement about impactful moments for sellers

This is a remote position open to candidates residing in the US.

In this role, you will:

• Build hands-on.
• Prototype, ship, and iterate on AI agents, copilots, and workflow automations for GTM teams.
• Own the architecture of the shared GTM AI platform.
• Design evaluation frameworks for agent and LLM behavior.
• Use agents, coding assistants, and agent harnesses in your daily work.
• Track new models, agent frameworks, and context engineering.
• Be the go-to advocate for AI across Sales, CS, and Support.
• Own the technical and product strategy for GTM AI.
• Own the forecasting, propensity, and CRM data-quality work.
• Work with Sales, Customer Success, Support, Enablement, Operations, Product, and Engineering leaders.
• Implement a pragmatic responsible-AI approach.

Qualifications

• 10+ years across software engineering, machine learning, data science, or data platforms.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience.
• Hands-on experience building and shipping LLM applications and agentic workflows.
• Production full-stack and cloud engineering experience.
• Experience designing and running evaluation frameworks for LLM or agent systems.
• Daily, fluent use of AI agents and coding assistants.
• A track record of shipping internal or customer-facing AI/ML products.
• Experience with predictive modeling, experimentation, analytics, and data engineering foundations.
• Strong product judgment and communication skills.
• A people-first leadership style.

Requirements

• Experience building AI or decisioning products for Sales, Customer Success, Support, Marketing, or other GTM functions.
• Experience with CRM, customer data, support, and knowledge-management systems.
• Experience with agent SDKs and harnesses.
• Experience operating AI products at scale.
• A visible habit of learning in public.
