[Hiring] VP, Applications and Digital Health @Prism Vision Group

4d ago - Prism Vision Group is hiring a remote VP, Applications and Digital Health. πŸ’Έ Salary: usd 225,000 - 250,000 per year πŸ“Location: USA

Role Description

PRISM is scaling faster than at any point in its history β€” new practices joining through M&A, a deepening integration with McKesson, and rising expectations from operations and physician leadership are all landing on an applications and digital health function that hasn't historically had a senior, dedicated leader. You'll take ownership of PRISM's clinical and business application portfolio, Athena, Nextech, and SIS today, and own the strategy behind it: what the platform mix and integration architecture should look like as PRISM continues to grow, and how to get there. You'll report directly to the CIO, sit at the center of nearly every cross-functional conversation IT has with operations, physician leadership, and finance, and build the team and roadmap to make it happen. This is one of the most senior and most visible technology seats in the company.

Responsibilities

  • Own the Applications Portfolio β€” and Get More Value From It
    • Take full ownership of PRISM's EMR and practice-management ecosystem β€” Athena, Nextech, and SIS.
    • Own the vendor relationships that matter most, driving the enhancement roadmap and holding vendors accountable.
    • Partner directly with clinical and operations leaders to maximize platform usage.
    • Lead or participate in evaluating new solutions where the existing platform falls short.
  • Lead Digital Health & Patient Access
    • Partner with marketing to define and deliver PRISM's digital front door.
    • Act as a lead collaborator on patient-access initiatives.
    • Own strategy and vendor relationships for ancillary clinical technology.
  • Build the Team You Need
    • Drive a culture shift from reactive support to proactive partnership.
    • Assess the current applications team and build a team structured for future needs.
    • Recruit, develop, and retain talent across various roles.
    • Set the operating rhythm for the team.
  • Own the Budget
    • Manage the opex and capex budget for applications and digital health.
    • Build and defend business cases for platform, staffing, and vendor decisions.
    • Manage vendor relationships and contracts across the portfolio.
  • Bring AI Into the Work
    • Identify opportunities for AI and automation to improve productivity and access.
    • Find internal applications for AI and automation to enhance team effectiveness.
    • Ensure AI use cases meet governance, security, and compliance standards.
  • Partner Across the Business
    • Build trusted relationships with physician leadership and practice operations.
    • Participate in governance forums and bring input from physicians into the applications roadmap.
    • Collaborate with McKesson's teams on application and EMR strategies for M&A integrations.
    • Act as a thought partner to the CIO on future applications and digital health strategies.

Qualifications

  • Required
    • Proven senior leadership experience owning an EMR or clinical application portfolio.
    • Deep, hands-on fluency with EMR and practice-management platforms.
    • Experience shaping application and platform strategy.
    • Experience leading digital health or patient-access initiatives.
    • Experience assessing and rebuilding a technical team.
  • Preferred
    • Experience in ophthalmology or multi-specialty ambulatory care.
    • Experience operating inside a matrixed parent organization.
    • Direct experience piloting or scaling AI-enabled workflows.
    • Familiarity with clinical trials technology and revenue-cycle platforms.
    • Experience building application-strategy business cases.

What Success Looks Like

In the first year, success looks like: a team that's been honestly assessed, restructured, and reset from reactive to proactive; real partnership with operations and physician leadership that has surfaced opportunities to get more value from the platforms; measurable improvement delivered through AI or automation initiatives; a budget and vendor management approach grounded in real numbers; and a clear, data-backed point of view on PRISM's application and integration strategy.
