Role Description

This role involves driving the development of new business via the Business Development (BD) team and supporting the Medical Affairs team throughout the clinical investigation life cycle.

  • Drive development of new business via the BD team, including initiation/retention of relationships with current and potential clients.
  • Participate in BD opportunities through capabilities presentation, proposal writing, bid defence participation, and execution.
  • Build relationships with Key Opinion Leaders, therapeutic experts, and clients to expand Worldwide’s portfolio.
  • Support existing TA-aligned operational teams, focusing on developing comprehensive and effective strategies to maximize sales and repeat business.
  • Increase Worldwide Clinical Trials brand awareness by creating white papers/blogs and generating materials that showcase therapeutic and operational excellence.
  • Responsible for direct or indirect supervision and mentoring of all medical staff functioning as Medical Monitors and medical experts within the assigned therapeutic area.
  • Supervise all medical services provided on projects within the assigned therapeutic area.
  • Provide support to KOL and DSMB meetings.
  • Support and participate in international conferences and tradeshows.
  • Ensure the highest level of client satisfaction through successful execution of projects.
  • Represent or delegate appropriate Medical Affairs functional representative to collaborate with other functions in all applicable corporate initiatives.
  • Implement Medical Monitoring initiatives within the company, including new technology to facilitate medical oversight of projects.
  • Provide therapeutic training for internal and client staff, as appropriate.

Qualifications

  • Medical degree with 12 or more years of experience in clinical research and drug development.
  • Extensive experience of Oncology studies in the clinical development field.
  • Knowledge of all operational aspects of Phase I-IV clinical research.
  • Experience working in a pharmaceutical or biotechnology company and/or a CRO, preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain highly effective relationships with clients, sites, key opinion leaders, and external vendors.
  • Detail and service oriented with the ability to work under pressure and tight timelines.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise, mentor, and further develop direct reports.
  • Highly ethical and medically oriented.

Requirements

  • Extensive knowledge in drug development process, clinical research, and industry dynamics.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgement and make decisions independently in complex situations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills in a collaborative environment.
  • Strong leadership to manage a team of medical professionals.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to clearly and concisely present information.
