Role Description

Team Worldwide is seeking an accomplished international freight forwarding executive to serve as our next Vice President – International. This executive leadership position has company-wide responsibility for International service development and succeeds a respected executive who retired after more than 20 years with the organization.

Reporting directly to the President/CEO and serving as a member of the executive leadership team, the Vice President – International will provide strategic leadership and oversight for:

• International Air Import & Export
• Ocean FCL/LCL Import & Export
• NVOCC and consolidation activities
• International carrier relationships and procurement
• Global forwarding agent and partner relationships
• International regulatory compliance

While primarily leading through directors and department managers, the Vice President must have the experience and judgment to provide direction and become involved when complex operational, customer, or regulatory situations require executive attention.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive international freight forwarding experience, including hands-on operational and senior leadership responsibilities.
• Significant experience with both International Air and Ocean freight forwarding.
• Strong knowledge of Air import/export and Ocean FCL/LCL import/export operations, including experience with international consolidation services.
• Demonstrated success developing people, mentoring leaders, and building organizational capability.
• Established experience developing relationships with airlines, ocean carriers, overseas agents, and international logistics partners.
• Experience supporting independent organizations and participating in major customer and business-development opportunities.
• Strong knowledge of regulations governing international freight forwarding.
• Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
• A college degree is not required. Relevant industry experience, leadership success, international forwarding expertise, relationships, judgment, and professional track record will receive greater consideration.

Requirements

• The preferred location is our Global Headquarters in Texas.
• We will consider a remote candidate with a demonstrated history of successfully leading people and international forwarding operations.
• A remote executive must be willing to make regular visits to the Global Headquarters.
• Candidates should expect significant domestic and international travel, estimated at approximately 25+ weeks annually.
