Role Description

ISR Recruitment is supporting an IT consultancy working with a confidential UK central government agency to appoint an experienced User Researcher for an initial 6-month contract to support the development and enhancement for a specific healthcare product, conducting user research and testing to understand user needs, validate the product experience and identify opportunities for improvement.

Qualifications

• Proven track record of working within digital or technology environments.
• Practical experience of designing and conducting user research using a range of qualitative and quantitative methods.
• Experience with user interviews, surveys, diary studies, user testing, and usability testing.
• Experience in qualitative and quantitative research.
• Research analysis and synthesis skills.
• Ability to identify user needs, behaviors, and pain points.
• Capability to turn research findings into actionable recommendations.
• Experience in translating user feedback into user stories or product requirements.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.

Requirements

• Comfortable working collaboratively with Product Managers, Business Analysts, Designers, and technical teams.
• Able to communicate research findings effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience in researching AI, semantic search, search or data products is advantageous.
• Experience working with emerging technology.
• Experience in complex digital transformation programmes.
• Experience in central government or wider public-sector environments.
• Experience working within multidisciplinary Agile product teams.
• Ability to evaluate potential product use cases and make evidence-based recommendations.

Benefits

• 6-month contract.
• Remote working.
• Outside IR35.
• Market rates (c£425 per day).
