[Hiring] Underwriting Technician, National Accounts Property @CNA Insurance

Role Description

This role involves supporting the National Accounts Property Team by processing new and renewal insurance applications.

• Responsible for the timely and accurate processing of insurance applications
• Utilizes routine underwriting procedures on low complexity assignments
• Provides high-level support to underwriters
• Performs routine selection, evaluation, and pricing of the least complex risks
• Assists underwriters by communicating with agencies on routine matters
• Requests underwriting and/or state mandated requirements based on guidelines
• Performs data entry of insurance applications, verifying information and compliance
• Issues and assembles policies upon receipt of underwriter approval
• Processes cancellations, declinations, and reissues of policies upon request
• May review underwriting requirements and recommend acceptance or denial
• May provide assistance and/or training to other Underwriting Technicians
• May assist in special project work
• May update the underwriting system

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience; some college preferred
• Typically a minimum of three years of related work experience in an office environment
• This position has the potential to be filled at a Sr. Underwriting Technician level based on experience

Requirements

• Knowledge of policy processing procedures and documentation
• Knowledge of applicable insurance products
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to work at high levels of productivity and quality
• Ability to work independently on multiple tasks
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other business-related software
