[Hiring] Underwriter (Flood Insurance) @Marsh

Role Description

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Underwriting team at Torrent Technologies. This role will be based in Kalispell or can be performed remotely nationwide. As a Flood Underwriter, you will work under the supervision of the Underwriting Manager, reviewing and analyzing quotations while servicing an existing book of business.

• Underwrite new submissions to ensure new policies are correct, per guidelines.
• Process endorsements, cancellations, and reinstatements, handle billing issues, and complete policy issuance.
• Review all underwriting information, including applications, photographs, elevation certificates, and third-party internet resources to accurately underwrite policies.
• Provide customer service to agents via phone support, online chat, and emails, meeting required production KPIs as defined by leadership.
• Deescalate difficult customer situations and bring them to complete resolution.
• Actively participate in group activities, including daily huddles, team meetings, and training opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ years of insurance underwriting experience, with flood experience preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic to intermediate technical knowledge of systems and procedures, with attention to detail.
• Basic computer knowledge and proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Requirements

• Previous customer service experience.
• 2+ years of underwriting experience with an ANFI designation.
• Experience with underwriting methodologies and flood insurance practices, along with familiarity with organizational insurance procedures and policies.
• Strong time management skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with team members and clients.
