[Hiring] Tender: Hospice Friendly Hospitals Programme Evaluation, Governance & Leadership Consultations @Irish Hospice Foundation

Role Description

The Irish Hospice Foundation (IHF) is seeking external support for the evaluation of the Hospice Friendly Hospitals Programme, focusing on Governance and Leadership consultations. This evaluation aims to develop a comprehensive understanding of how the current core activities of the HFH Programme contribute to improving conditions for compassionate, person-centred end-of-life care in acute hospitals.

• Conduct semi-structured interviews with senior hospital leaders across participating HFH hospitals.
• Facilitate focus group discussions with End-of-Life Care Coordinators and/or End-of-Life Care Representatives.
• Analyse qualitative data collected through interviews and focus groups.
• Prepare a report outlining key findings, conclusions, and recommendations.
• Work collaboratively with the Research and Policy Team to ensure alignment with the wider HFH evaluation.

Qualifications

• Experience in qualitative research methodologies.
• Familiarity with healthcare systems, particularly in the context of end-of-life care.
• Strong analytical skills and experience with qualitative data analysis software (e.g., NVivo).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Requirements

• Conduct approximately 15-20 semi-structured interviews with diverse hospital leadership roles.
• Facilitate approximately 6-10 focus groups with 4-6 participants each.
• Ensure representation across all six HSE Health Regions and various hospital types.
• Maintain independence in data collection and analysis.
• Provide a detailed project plan and budget breakdown.
