Role Description

We are sharing a specialised part-time consulting opportunity for professionals experienced in telecommunications, network infrastructure, technical diagram review, connectivity documentation, systems layouts, instruction-based task design, and structured evaluation. This role supports current and upcoming remote consulting opportunities focused on AI-assisted review of telecommunications and network-related documents, diagrams, and technical materials. Selected professionals will create complex evaluation tasks using network diagrams, telecom infrastructure records, connectivity layouts, equipment documentation, and related visual materials, define clear expected answers, and develop objective rubrics for assessing response accuracy, instruction alignment, and domain understanding.

Key Responsibilities

  • Telecom & Network Task Development
    • Create complex tasks based on network diagrams, telecom infrastructure documents, connectivity layouts, equipment records, service maps, and technical documentation.
    • Define clear ground-truth answers, acceptable response criteria, and objective evaluation standards.
    • Develop prompts that test diagram interpretation, network reasoning, information extraction, technical accuracy, and careful instruction following.
    • Ensure each task is clearly scoped, technically relevant, and suitable for structured review workflows.
  • Network Diagram & Documentation Review
    • Evaluate AI-generated responses involving telecom systems, network diagrams, infrastructure layouts, tables, maps, and technical documentation.
    • Assess whether responses correctly interpret labels, symbols, connections, equipment references, routing details, annotations, and document-specific instructions.
    • Identify missing details, incorrect interpretations, unsupported assumptions, weak reasoning, or inconsistencies in the response.
    • Review outputs against objective rubrics and project-specific quality standards.
  • Rubric Design & Quality Control
    • Develop clear rubrics that explain expected answers, grading criteria, and acceptable variations.
    • Provide structured written feedback on task quality, response accuracy, and evaluation consistency.
    • Apply detailed instructions carefully across telecommunications, network infrastructure, and document-based review tasks.
    • Participate in onboarding, calibration, or domain alignment activities when required.

Qualifications

  • Professional experience in telecommunications, network engineering, network operations, infrastructure support, technical documentation, field operations, or related review work.
  • Strong ability to interpret network diagrams, telecom infrastructure documents, connectivity layouts, equipment references, maps, tables, and technical materials.
  • Comfort working with precise instructions, objective criteria, and structured evaluation standards.
  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to explain task expectations and review decisions clearly.
  • High attention to detail when assessing accuracy, completeness, and instruction alignment.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote, project-based environment.
  • Consistency across repetitive, detail-oriented review and rubric-based evaluation tasks.

Educational Background

  • Academic or professional background in telecommunications, network engineering, information technology, electrical engineering, computer networking, systems administration, infrastructure operations, or a related field is highly relevant.
  • Experience with network diagrams, telecom layouts, cabling documentation, equipment schedules, service records, routing materials, or infrastructure documentation may be especially valuable.
  • Training or professional experience involving technical document review, network systems interpretation, operational workflows, field documentation, or quality evaluation is relevant.
  • Advanced technical, field, engineering, analytical, or project coordination experience in telecom or network environments may support project fit depending on scope.

Nice to Have

  • Experience creating assessment tasks, training materials, documentation standards, technical review guides, or structured evaluation rubrics.
  • Familiarity with telecom infrastructure, network topology, cabling layouts, service diagrams, equipment documentation, or operations records.
  • Experience reviewing diagrams, maps, tables, equipment records, technical drawings, maintenance documentation, or network-related datasets.
  • Comfort identifying ambiguity, missing information, unsupported assumptions, technical inconsistencies, or interpretation errors.
  • Strong ability to design objective criteria for evaluating complex telecom, network, or infrastructure-related reasoning tasks.

Why This Opportunity

  • Apply telecommunications and network infrastructure expertise to structured remote project work.
  • Contribute to high-quality technical document review, task development, and rubric-based evaluation.
  • Use network systems knowledge, diagram interpretation, and evaluation design skills in a focused project environment.
  • Work on flexible assignments aligned with telecom documentation, network review, and structured assessment strengths.
  • Remote structure with competitive hourly compensation.

Contract Details

  • Independent contractor role.
  • Fully remote with flexible scheduling.
  • Eligible professionals may be based in approved project locations, including Canada and the United States, depending on project needs.
  • Part-time commitment, with an estimated 15–20 hours per week depending on project availability and onboarding status.
  • Competitive rates up to $40 per hour depending on expertise, telecommunications or network background, task quality, and project scope.
  • Weekly payments via Stripe or Wise.
  • Projects may be extended, shortened, or adjusted depending on scope and performance.
  • Work will not involve access to confidential or proprietary information from any employer, client, or institution.
