Role Description

As a Systems Engineer Manager, you'll play a dual role as a leader and hands-on contributor within the Systems Engineer (SE) Team. You will oversee and execute critical tasks, including:

Installation, configuration, and upgrades of servers, hardware, and software in LAN, WAN, and stand-alone environments
Diagnostic testing and resolution within a Windows/VMware/Azure local infrastructure environment
Managing a team of talented professionals, including System Engineer I, II, and III roles
Driving the success of the SE Team

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and execute design, implementation, tuning, and maintenance for an enterprise datacenter environment
Oversee a complex Windows infrastructure, including storage arrays, virtualization, and blade and chassis technology
Spearhead efforts to upgrade and replace current systems, ensuring adaptability to future needs
Foster process improvement within the SE Team and drive patch management initiatives
Supervise administration of systems and servers, guaranteeing service availability for authorized users
Develop procedures to mitigate and reduce the impact of outages, supporting disaster recovery and business continuity plans
Manage assigned projects to deliver services effectively and within objectives
Provide expert technical assistance and support to staff, service providers, and vendors
Approve team requests, conduct performance evaluations, and ensure adherence to company policies
Collaborate with internal departments to meet organizational goals and member needs
Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

10+ years of experience supporting large enterprise IT infrastructures
7+ years leading efforts in virtualization, Windows Servers, and enterprise backup/disaster recovery
7+ years in infrastructure, server, and storage architecture and troubleshooting
5+ years managing a Remote Desktop Services farm
5+ years working with VMware Enterprise
Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and a security-focused mindset

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field (preferred)
3+ years of experience with Veeam Enterprise (preferred)
Certifications: VCP-DCV, MCSE, HP ASE (preferred)
Prior experience in managed services, healthcare, or non-profit settings (preferred)
Expertise in Windows Active Directory, DNS, MFA, and large farm RDS environments (preferred)

Telecommuting Requirements

High-speed internet: Minimum download speed of 20Mbps and upload speed of 5Mbps

Compensation

Compensation Range: $106,700-$160,100
