Role Description
This role involves working as a Surgical Scrub Technician, focusing on attention to detail, excellence, and outstanding patient care.
- Assemble supplies and maintain a sterile field
- Pass instruments and assist in room preparation
- Coordinate care for optimal patient outcomes
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with clinic providers, fellows, and staff
Qualifications
- High School GED or formal educational equivalent
- Graduate of accredited Scrub Technologist school/program OR surgical scrub tech training through military
- 1 year Operating room experience (preferred in Orthopedics)
- Scrub Tech Certification (preferred)
- Orthopedic experience preferred
Requirements
- Ensure availability of appropriate instrumentation, supplies, and equipment for assigned cases
- Prepare the operating room for upcoming cases
- Clean, arrange, and transport instruments according to department policy
- Assist with instrument reprocessing tasks when assigned cases are completed
- Ensure operating rooms are case-ready for the following day’s cases
- Exhibit practical knowledge of OR equipment including maintenance and safety aspects
- Utilize available communication tools and demonstrate teamwork
- Attend departmental in-services and educational offerings
- Consistently demonstrate new knowledge and skills in clinical practice
- Willing to learn new techniques
- May perform other duties as assigned
