[Hiring] Supplier Project Engineer @TerraPower

Role Description

TerraPower is seeking to hire highly motivated and forward-thinking professionals who are interested in focusing on advanced nuclear reactor research and development and influencing change within the nuclear power landscape and bringing forward the critical production of medical isotopes.

The Supplier Project Engineer (SPE) will provide the following services to support the Supply Chain organization:

• Act in a project management capacity for supplier performance management and oversight.
• Apply classic project management tools to oversee suppliers including cost, schedule, submittal oversight, and resources.
• Collaborate with internal technical and commercial teams to ensure fidelity to contract and technical direction with supplier.
• Develop statements of work (SOW) and project planning to execute supplier projects to meet program objectives.
• Facilitate supplier selection activities for the request for proposals (RFPs) and team review/selection processes.
• Provide direction and oversight of supplier projects, ensuring delivery of contract deliverables.
• Manage technical interfaces between supplier projects and TerraPower’s technical team.
• Support contract administration and commercial activities as needed to implement projects.
• Manage the submittal process between the supplier and TerraPower Team.
• Maintain awareness of supplier technical capabilities, organization changes, and relationships.
• Provide supplier oversight during regularly scheduled and impromptu visits to supplier locations.

Qualifications

• Technical degree preferably in mechanical, electrical, chemical, nuclear, systems, or civil engineering required.
• 10 or more years of experience in supplier oversight required.
• PMP certification preferred or equivalent training.
• 3-5 years of manufacturing oversight preferred.
• Understanding of manufacturing travelers, welding, and similar manufacturing processes.
• Experience defining supplier work scope, including development of SOWs and RFPs.
• Demonstrated skills in management of suppliers in design and manufacturing environments.
• Demonstrated skills in supporting contractual/commercial aspects of customer/supplier relationships.
• Previous experience in technical interface with engineering groups for review and input to supplier activities.
• Required experience with project controls and organization along with tools and processes to support the same.
• A broad understanding of the mechanical, electrical, and nuclear engineering disciplines and how they interrelate is important.
• Strong communication skills desired.
• The SPE will possess a high degree of trust and integrity, communicate openly, be respectful of others, demonstrate a desire to foster teamwork, and deliver on the mission.

• Motor Abilities: Sitting for extended periods, bending/stooping, grasping/gripping, fine motor control (hands).
• Physical exertion and/or requirements: Minimal, with ability to safely lift up to 25 pounds.
• Repetitive work: Prolonged.
• Special Senses: Visual and audio focused work.
• Work Conditions: Stairs, typing/keyboard, standard and/or sitting working environment of >8 hours/day.
• Travel required: 25% - 50% or more.
