[Hiring] Supervisor - Revenue Cycle Regional @Carle Health

Role Description

Reports to the Manager of Revenue Cycle Regional AR. Is accountable and responsible for the daily operations and all staff who are assigned to area of supervision within Revenue Cycle Regional AR and oversight of associated portfolios. Provides leadership, recommendations, administrative support and direction in the management of the accounts receivable for their specific region. Analyzes the business office operations to ensure effective and efficient revenue cycle management. Accountable for personnel related duties that include:

• Interviewing
• Job performance evaluations
• Disciplinary actions
• Payroll reporting
• Enforcing required rules and regulations

Assists in management of resources to meet budgetary, productivity, quality and customer service requirements. Manages resources to ensure timely follow up and collection of outstanding receivables.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily department flow, ensuring appropriate staffing and optimal productivity and quality levels of the staff compared against pre-determined performance standards.
• Maintain ongoing knowledge of all job functions performed in the areas being supervised and systems utilized.
• Proficient within associated system applications for assigned portfolios, including but not limited to Epic, Meditech, and Mediquant.
• Maintain working knowledge of CPT, ICD, HCPCS code sets, HIPAA transactions code sets, and payer rules and regulations.
• Work in conjunction with Manager to ensure effective clinical and financial operations through partnership with other internal departments.
• Provide input and follow annual budget for department in collaboration with the Manager of Revenue Cycle Regional AR.
• Create and manage staff schedules, complete time card review and approval, and manage paid leave requests from staff.
• Ensure staff members are adequately trained and competent to perform all required job tasks.
• Communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
• Maintain appropriate internal controls and safeguards over revenue cycle activities.
• Recommend or initiate personnel actions for hires, promotions, transfers, discharges, and disciplinary measures.
• Initiate and complete staff performance evaluations and annual reviews.
• Act as a resource and mentor to others.
• Support Manager by interpreting and analyzing financial data to identify and monitor performance and establish benchmarks for the department.
• Serve as a first point of contact for system analysts for issues related to system performance and enhancements across Revenue Cycle.
• Conduct regularly scheduled meetings with staff, facilitating and collaborating on initiatives with department, enterprise-wide, and with external entities.
• Assist employees in solving work-related matters.
• Endorse and perform all required tasks associated with the Carle Experience.
• Handle quality assurance/compliance matters and escalated account issues as required and expected per policy and Code of Conduct.
• Participate in appropriate continuing education or certification activities.
• Ensure outstanding accounts receivable performance by maximizing cash, minimizing bad debts, and preventing aging of the portfolio beyond the acceptable time frame.
• Prepare and analyze management summary reports and communicate findings to the appropriate parties.
• Create, update, and maintain all departmental policies and procedures to ensure best practices are enforced and adhered to.
• Collaborate with internal management teams to identify best practices and process flows within associated business lines.
• Partner with Accounting and Systems as necessary to ensure accurate tracking, capturing, and reporting of revenue for assigned portfolios.
• Identify opportunities for system enhancements and assist with implementation and monitoring of the process.

Salary Range

The compensation range for this position is $24.28 per hour - $40.55 per hour. The actual compensation offered will depend on various factors including experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked, and compensation model.
