Role Description

The Strategic Sourcing Manager – Power Equipment and Electronics develops and executes enterprise category strategies for critical electrical and electronic components supporting MCG product platforms, including:

• Low- and medium-voltage switchgear and switchboards
• E-houses
• Skids
• Power-generation control packages
• Transformer-related products
• Other engineered power solutions

The role translates enterprise demand into sourcing, capacity, channel, alternate-source, and supply-continuity strategies that improve supplier performance, reduce total cost, and mitigate long-lead, allocation, obsolescence, and supply risks.

This is a high-impact individual contributor position with the authority, visibility, and executive presence expected of a senior sourcing leader. The position owns more than $100 million in direct material spend and serves as MCG's commercial leader and subject-matter expert for the assigned categories.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Finance, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing, supplier management, commodity management, or supply chain leadership within manufacturing or engineered-product environments.
• Demonstrated success developing and executing enterprise sourcing and category management strategies across multiple sites, business units, or product lines.
• Proven experience negotiating complex commercial agreements, long-term supply contracts, supplier partnerships, and risk-sharing arrangements.
• Experience leading supplier performance improvement initiatives related to quality, delivery, capacity, responsiveness, and cost.
• Demonstrated success delivering material productivity, cost reduction, value engineering, and supplier rationalization initiatives.
• Strong understanding of supplier quality systems, supplier development methodologies, contract governance, and supply risk management.
• Experience building executive-level supplier relationships and conducting supplier business reviews.
• Experience working effectively in multi-site, matrixed, and growth-oriented organizations.

• Advanced negotiation, supplier relationship management, and commercial leadership capabilities.
• Strong financial acumen, including cost modeling, total cost of ownership analysis, savings validation, and margin impact assessment.
• Ability to develop and execute enterprise sourcing and supplier management strategies aligned with business objectives and growth plans.
• Advanced analytical and data-driven decision-making skills, with the ability to analyze large and complex datasets, identify trends and cost drivers, develop scenarios, and translate insights into commercial actions.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis, including complex financial, spend, cost, pricing, and supplier-performance analysis used to support sourcing decisions and executive recommendations.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively leverage AI and modern digital productivity tools, including generative AI, to accelerate research, analysis, scenario development, communication, and sourcing workflows while applying appropriate judgment and data governance.
• Experience using spend analytics, ERP, business intelligence, and sourcing tools to develop category insights, identify enterprise leverage opportunities, and measure sourcing and supplier performance.
• Ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and drive alignment without direct organizational authority.
• Demonstrated ability to lead supplier performance improvement initiatives and manage complex supplier relationships.
• Advanced presentation development and data-storytelling skills, with the ability to translate complex sourcing, financial, market, and supplier information into concise executive-level presentations and recommendations.
• High level of accountability, business judgment, and follow-through.
• Ability to operate effectively in dynamic, fast-paced, and growth-oriented environments.

Benefits

• FLSA executive and professional positions paid on a salary basis, where project requirements and tight client deadlines may require workweeks over forty (40) hours (including weekends or holidays).
• This role primarily works in an office setting, with periodic visits to MCG manufacturing locations and supplier facilities to assess capabilities, support sourcing initiatives, address performance issues, and engage cross-functional teams.
• Mobility: Ability to move around the manufacturing plant, including walking, standing, and climbing stairs.
• Manual Dexterity: Occasional use of hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
• Lifting: Ability to lift and carry items up to twenty-five (25) pounds. All lifting should be done following OSHA standards.
• Visual and Auditory Requirements: Must be able to see and hear well enough to navigate the plant safely and communicate effectively with team members.
