Role Description

The Staff Commodity Business Manager is responsible for managing strategic sourcing activities to ensure continuous supply to production and NPI. This includes:

• Spend analytics
• Savings and initiative tracking
• Sourcing tool configuration and application
• End-to-end sourcing process
• Supply base analysis
• Supplier selection
• RFP preparation and analysis
• KPI development/tracking

The ideal candidate should demonstrate sound knowledge of negotiation strategies and extensive experience in a similar role.

Qualifications

• B.A. in Business, Industrial Engineering, Life Science or related field or equivalent work experience
• 4+ years’ experience as a Global Sourcing leader or in a similar position
• Deep know-how in commodity strategies development
• Experience with RFQ implementation and execution
• Superb communication skills
• Advanced ability to collaborate and negotiate
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Exceptional analytical and strategic thinking abilities
• Willingness to travel to develop, promote, and maintain strategic sourcing relationships
• Able to analyze, prepare, and deliver presentations to management
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
• SAP know-how preferred
• Experience in Life Science industry and/or Reagents commodities management background preferred

Requirements

• Developing and implementing key commodities roadmaps (Life Science preferred)
• Negotiating contracts with key suppliers, including costs and terms of supply, service, and quality
• Driving market analysis, supplier selection per category such as reagents, distribution channels, plastics, packaging, and capital equipment
• Preparing and executing RFI/RFPs and leading bid analysis and evaluation
• Estimating risks and applying risk minimizing techniques focusing on business continuity as well as reducing Sole and Single sources
• Maintaining strategic sourcing relationships and developing strong partnerships
• Upholding internal and external policies, regulations, and laws
• Following regulatory and ISO 13485
