Role Description

Ensure the reliability, security, and performance of database systems in 24/7 environments, optimizing for scalability and high availability. This role designs cloud database architectures, enforces compliance, drives performance tuning, and collaborates with stakeholders to align database strategies with business needs.

• Ensure the smooth implementation and maintenance of database systems.
• Provide production support for 24/7 environments.
• Monitor and analyze system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations to ensure high availability and scalability of database systems.
• Work closely with security and compliance teams to ensure adherence to regulatory and industry standards.
• Document and maintain technical documentation related to the work done.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, analyze business needs, and design scalable cloud database architectures.
• Develop and implement database management strategies, including data governance and data security measures.
• Stay up to date with the latest advancements in cloud computing, data management, and database technologies, and recommend improvements to existing systems.
• Participate in capacity planning exercises and ensure efficient resource utilization.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, and PostgreSQL.
• At least 5 years of experience working with complex database architectures.
• At least 5 years of experience with Database Management Operations.
• At least 5 years of experience with designing and implementing database architectures.
• At least 5 years of experience with Database Security in SQL.
• Experienced with Automation and Scripting using Ansible, Shell, or Python.
• Familiarity with Ansible Automation.
• Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts, including infrastructure as a service (IaaS), platform as a service (PaaS), and software as a service (SaaS).
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Certifications in any of: Oracle, Microsoft, Google, AWS relevant to this position.
• Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols.
• Experience in DevOps practices and methodologies.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related fields.

Work Conditions

• Work from Home.
• Amenable to be assigned on a rotating schedule (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM and/or 8:00 PM – 5:00 AM PHT) with possible on-call and weekend support.
