[Hiring] Specialist, Volunteer Recruitment @Braven

Role Description

In order to achieve its ambition of serving 80,000-100,000 Fellows over the next decade, Braven is hiring a part-time Specialist, Volunteer Recruitment to support the execution of our volunteer recruitment strategy, helping bring in the thousands of Leadership Coaches, Professional Mentors, and Mock Interview Volunteers who make Braven’s program possible each year.

As a member of the Volunteer Team, you will work closely with the Associate Director, Volunteer Recruitment, to:

• Execute outreach tactics
• Build relationships with prospective volunteers
• Facilitate info sessions
• Support the pipeline of candidates moving toward applying to our programs

This is a hands-on, relationship-facing role that sits at the front of the volunteer funnel, ideal for someone who is energized by connecting with people, finds creative ways to spread the word about a mission they believe in, and takes pride in organized, consistent follow-through.

Hours vary between 10 and 20 per week depending on the recruitment cycle, with lighter weeks during off-peak periods. This role is part-time and ends in June 2027. The Specialist will report to the Assoc. Director, Volunteer Recruitment.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of work experience

Requirements

• Experience in recruitment, volunteer coordination, community outreach, marketing, or a related field
• Strong written communication skills, with the ability to write warmly, clearly, and in a way that moves people to action
• Highly organized with strong follow-through; comfortable managing multiple tasks and deadlines across a fast-moving recruitment cycle
• Relationship-oriented and energized by connecting with people, including building rapport and representing an organization they believe in
• Experience and comfort with digital tools, including Google Workspace, email marketing platforms, and social media; experience with Salesforce, Campaign Monitor, or LinkedIn Ads is a plus
• Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment about when to escalate or ask for guidance
• Demonstrated commitment to equity and inclusion
• Exemplification of Braven’s core values
• Experience that has informed your belief in Braven’s mission and has prepared you to work with, or for, Braven’s student Fellow population

• Hourly rate for this role is set forth at $25 per hour
• Part-time, non-exempt position with hours varying week to week in line with recruitment cycle demands
