[Hiring] Senior Technical Surveyor @Davies

Role Description

Are you ready to take on some of the most technically challenging and rewarding subsidence claims in the industry? Davies is looking for a skilled, motivated professional to join our specialist subsidence division — someone who thrives on complex problem‑solving, enjoys autonomy, and wants to make a real impact for clients and policyholders.

This is a home‑based role with travel; you will ideally be based around the Leeds area with the freedom to manage your own workload while being part of a supportive, expert team.

What will your day look like:

• You’ll be the technical lead on our more complex domestic and commercial subsidence claims, providing expert guidance to colleagues and clients.
• Your work will include:
  • Managing complex subsidence investigations from first visit to final resolution
  • Visiting damaged properties to assess structural, technical and insurance‑related issues
  • Designing and overseeing stabilisation schemes and repair strategies
  • Producing high‑quality technical reports, specifications and tender documents
  • Interpreting geotechnical investigations and advising on foundation solutions
  • Administering building contracts, valuations and variations
  • Ensuring compliance with Building Regulations, Planning, CDM and Party Wall legislation
  • Working closely with policyholders, insurers, loss adjusters, contractors and local authorities
  • Supporting and mentoring colleagues, and contributing to training delivery
  • Maintaining accurate case records and meeting service level expectations
• You’ll also play a key role in strengthening client relationships and supporting other Davies divisions when needed.

Qualifications

• A degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Building Surveying or a related discipline
• Strong experience in subsidence investigation and building pathology
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A proactive, organised approach and the ability to work independently
• A flexible mindset and the resilience to thrive in a fast‑paced environment
• Solid understanding of buildings insurance, contract administration and construction law
• A full, clean UK driving licence
• Enthusiasm, professionalism and a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service are essential.
